Frolic in the Valley

Frolic in the Valley

About the Project:

Frolic in the Valley was a community based festival held in Nambucca Heads (NSW) in 2004 and 2005. The festival initiated as a partnership between TAFE Outreach and the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) as a Work for the Dole project.

The vision of the festival was "To bring people of the Nambucca Valley together in a celebration of youth and families". This was created by creating a program which included entertainment for both small children and youth in the form of live bands, roving performers, workshops and market stalls.

The project created a simulated workplace environment for students who decided to be known as 'YCW Productions'. Students assumed job roles within the project and carried out tasks accordingly.

Evolve Network Australia acknowledges the work of students, stakeholders and volunteers in developing this event.
