About the Project:
Frolic in the Valley was a community
based festival held in Nambucca Heads
(NSW) in 2004 and 2005. The festival
initiated as a partnership between TAFE
Outreach and the Department of Employment
and Workplace Relations (DEWR) as a
Work for the Dole project.
The vision of the festival was "To
bring people of the Nambucca Valley
together in a celebration of youth and
families". This was created by
creating a program which included entertainment
for both small children and youth in
the form of live bands, roving performers,
workshops and market stalls.
The project created a simulated workplace
environment for students who decided
to be known as 'YCW Productions'. Students
assumed job roles within the project
and carried out tasks accordingly.
Evolve Network Australia acknowledges
